A 2.4-liter turbocharged engine generates 275 horsepower, while a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine generates 203 horsepower in the NX250 basic model. Although both the NX250 and the NX350 have an eight-speed automatic gearbox, the NX350 is only available with all-wheel driveas a standard feature, while the NX250 may be had with either front- or all-wheel drive.

The NX350h is the first of two hybrid drivetrain options; it generates 239 hp thanks to a combination of two electric motors and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. During our first test drive, we got behind the wheel of a mid-range NX350 that could go from zero to sixty miles per hour in 6.6 seconds.
